3 BASIC TREATMENT MODELS
I. Medical Model Treatment
a. Based on psysiological chemical imbalance of depression
b. Uses various psychotropic medications to remediate depression
c. Also examines and uses hormone medications and antianxiolytic
medications to mediate depression
II. Cognitive Behavioral Treatment
a. Mediation is accomplished via systemic change of aberrant cognitions
b. Usually combined with medication treatment
c. Most commonly used therapy used in conjunction with medication for depression
III. Interpersonal/Eclectic Model Therapy
a. Synergistic method of treatment
b. Uses Medication/Cognitive Model while addressing other personal needs
